We consider the protection of the privacy of our customers, their employees and visitors to our website to be highly important. That is why we endeavour to protect the privacy of those involved in using our services and software products as well as possible. What tracks are played (Time started and ended, what room and the user who suggested it)
Users (Join and leave times)
Genre information (Time, which user and what the genre was changed to)
Playback data (Time and value of what changed)

2. How do we collect your data?

Direct data collection

You directly provide Awaves with most of the data we collect. We collect and process data when you:

Create an account on our website (currently not implemented)
Voluntarily complete a customer survey or provide feedback via any mail and/or other tools
Sign up for our newsletter
In any way interact with our website and Awaves Play which can help us improve our music experience (feedback buttons, control interfaces and other inputs)

Google Analytics

We use first-party cookies (such as the Google Analytics cookie) and third-party cookies (such as Google advertising cookies) in order to improve the experience our visitors and customers have. For this reason we decided to enable some of the Google Analytics features to have some data to work with and improve the website.

If the contact form/newsletter is used to ask questions or to request information, certain information will be requested. This information will only be used to answer questions and/or to make contact regarding the requested information.

Goal of the collection and processing of anonymized information

What we will do with the collected and processed anonymous data is that we will try to improve our underlying systems and machine learning models in order to improve the music listening experience of our artificial DJ.

Companies who we share your data with

We do not currently share your data with any other companies. When this changes we will change this part of the privacy policy accordingly.

4. How do we store your data?

We store the data in a database on a hard drive and/or ssd in a server located in Germany. The server on which the data is stored is ISO 27001 certified.

We do not currently send any mails for marketing purposes.

Social media buttons

Buttons to promote or share web pages on YouTube, LinkedIn and Soundcloud are included on our website. These buttons work by means of pieces of code that come from the relevant social network. This code is used to place cookies. We have no influence on this. Please read the privacy statement of Facebook, YouTube, Twitter and LinkedIn (which may change regularly) to know what they do with your (personal) data that are processed via these cookies.

The information that is collected is made anonymous as much as possible. The information is transferred to and by YouTube, LinkedIn and Soundcloud and stored on servers in the United States. LinkedIn, Twitter and Facebook state that they adhere to the Privacy Shield principles and are affiliated with the Privacy Shield program of the U. S. Department of Commerce. This implies an adequate level of protection for the processing of any personal data.

Hotjar

We use Hotjar in order to better understand our users’ needs and to optimize this service and experience. Hotjar is a technology service that helps us better understand our users’ experience (e.g. how much time they spend on which pages, which links they choose to click, what users do and don’t like, etc.) and this enables us to build and maintain our service with user feedback. Hotjar uses cookies and other technologies to collect data on our users’ behavior and their devices (in particular device’s IP address (captured and stored only in anonymized form), device screen size, device type (unique device identifiers), browser information, geographic location (country only), preferred language used to display our website). Hotjar stores this information in a pseudonymized user profile. Neither Hotjar nor we will ever use this information to identify individual users or to match it with further data on an individual user.
